The Digital Storytelling Workshop

A Digital Storytelling workshop was held at Dragon Arts in April 2007. Members were given the opportunity to create their own narrative in their own words using recorded speech, photographs, drawings and video editing. They drew on material from their own lives, local history and family history.

The workshop were run by Stuart Jones and Prys Lewis and organised in conjunction with

Swansea City Opera and Dragon Arts "Street Opera"

In November 2006, members of Swansea City Opera and Dragon Arts collaborated on an inovative Project. They attended workshops that covered all aspects of preparing for and peforming Opera from acting and singing, to stage and light design, sound recording and editing.

The first three weeks were informal sessions but over time a musical performance piece was written and composed by the participants under the guidance of a director, a composer, a librettist and the workshop leaders.

The first sessions were led by Andy Gallagher, (Swansea City Opera), Carey Hill, (D.A.L.) and Prys Lewis (D.A.L.).

Cars to Mars PosterThis culminated in two performances at the National Waterfront Museum in Swansea of the Opera "From Cars to Mars" on May 24th, 2006 and a performance at the Senedd Building in Cardiff November 21st, 2006.
